'Bowles' Mauve' is probably the best known and most widely available of all erysimums, and justifiably so. It is hardy and vigorous and will readily last for five or six years in the garden. It forms an upright, woody sub-shrub with attractive silvery green leaves and mauve flowers on long racemes over a long period from early spring well into summer. Height = 75cm. Spread = 60cm. 'Bowles' Mauve' is one of very few erysimums to have received the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. (Occasionally known as 'E. A. Bowles'). |
