Mrs L K Elmhirst (also known as Dorothy Elmhirst) is a very attractive cultivar with flowers which open reddish orange and turn to pinkish mauve. The flowers are borne above dense clusters of contrasting, dark green leaves which are strongly serrated. L. K. Elmhirst will last for several years in the garden, but has a tendency to develop a rather sprawling habit if left to its own devices. Rigorous clipping is needed after flowering if a more compact and upright shape is required. |
