'Harpur Crewe' is a very old variety. Its many good qualities as a garden plant help to explain its continued wide cultivation today. It is an evergreen hardy perennial which will last for several years in the garden. It has an upright, compact habit and needs very little maintenance. The flowers are not large by the standards of modern cultivars, but they are a wonderful golden yellow, scented and double (Harpur Crewe is one of only two varieties with double flowers). |
